Hi. Can someone cast an opinion over this one before i click buy?
Its not going to be used for gaming at the moment, hence the cheapo graphics card. I like th case, the quad chip, the idea of 4gb ram. I've got an existing sound card to go across. Have i missed anything obvious, or is anything out of place?
Oh and it'll be running Xp Pro initially

Whats the difference with the Sata burner opposed to the normal burner
Sorry for sounding like a complete numpty :(

Whats the difference with the Sata burner opposed to the normal burner

Sata uses a small cable, IDE uses a mahoosive one, sata is also faster so definately the way to go. If i were you id upgrade the OS to 64 bit rather than downgrade the ram.

Well you should be able to use about 3.5gb of the 4gb until you move to a 64bit OS such as Vista so it is up to you. As DavidB says it might be better to upgrade to another OS or simply buy the 4gb and use most (but not all) of it.

SATA burners use a different data cable (SATA) rather than the older (IDE) that was more common. SATA cables are neater and with only one drive on the chain you need never worry about master/slave designations etc.

Don't worry about asking questions at all, when it is back and running a quick search is often worthwhile but for the moment it isn't even an option so ask away. :)

Right this is hopefully the correct spec(fingers crossed)

Changed to Geil Ram after reading the reviews on here. Will the board take four sticks? And updated to Vista

Think thats everything covered.

Cheers Guys :)

Cheers for that. I played with the Asus website before and got lost :(
I'll stick with the Geil memory.

Thanks for all the input. Its nice to know that i'm buying something that'll work.

Once again, cheers guys :D

I assume you won't be using this to game? That graphics card isn't fit for anything more then general windows use.

EDIT: Next time I'll read the OP first :o
