Can someone clear this up

The last generation iMac had a 2.88mhz setup in which is now appear to be 2.66mhz in the new line. Someone was saying that the 2.66mhz is just as fast or faster than the old 2.88 dues to a different build can someone shed some light on this?

Different architecture, different bus speeds, different memory.

Oh, and MHz please, not mHz. mHz would be incredibly slow

In fact, GHz rather than mHz or MHz!

I've not 100% looked into it but they are probably on par.

the MHz rating isn't the measuring stick it was 5 years ago, lot has changed since then!

Aye, I'd agree with that. It's why AMD stopped naming their CPUs by speed some time ago.
