Hi,

Just wondering if someone can clear up a little confusion I have surrounding the DP 1.2a standard and Adaptive Sync.

I own a Dell U2715H monitor that has the option to enable DP 1.2a in the menus, now AS is part of the 1.2a standard so does this mean the monitor is capable of supporting dynamic refresh rates?

Took a look at the tech specs for the monitor and it only lists 1.2, but the monitor definitely has an option for it. Does 1.2a require addition hardware in the monitor (FreeSync?) for this to work?

Thanks

It depends what scaler the monitor has and Dell's software. Adaptive Sync was a addition to the VESA 1.2 standard.
