can someone explain how this RDP feature works?

from what i can barely understand of that link, it explains how to make RDP able to connect to a remote machine and not lock the terminal of that machine so both people can see whats going on, like how "remote administrator" works.

I can't believe someone actually wrote that down.

It involved 4 PCs to get it working, and even then the "remote" computer is still locked when viewed locally.

seems pretty simple to me. you cannot do it in XP, only with server 2003. So both machines connect to the server, now both users are in the same session. Within that session, open another RDP connection to the XP machine you want. Now both users are in the same session on the XP machine. Seems like a really poor way to do things though. You would probably be better off using VNC for this.
