Is it wrong to sell a item to a shop then buy something in the shop with that money?

Imagine you sell cd's to the total of £55 to a record shop then you buy some records using that £55.

So you buy two records for £40, I think it was bad of me because the shop made a loss.

Yeah you can tell I was poor at maths in school.

Thanks..

the 2 records you bought for £40 would have been marked up at a profit so im sure they were pleased, or am i missing something here?

They would've made a profit on the £40 you paid them for the two records, and they'll sell the records you sold them for a lot more than the £55 they gave you.

shop buys CD's for £55
shop sells CD's for ~£100
shop sells OP records for £40 that they probably bought for £20
????
profit
