Can someone explain Wii's online system?

It will be free, but there's no games that use online at the moment anyway. The first game is going to be Pokemon which will be out over here next year sometime.

It's free, and will work providing you have broadband and wireless in your home - either via a router or by a USB dongle on your PC.

At the mo it's a fairly limited service, with no games or news/weather channels. However, the shop for the Virtual Console will be available from launch (and possibly the Opera Browser?) and of course the update and Mii services. Expect it to flesh out and improve over time - but I wouldn't expect the Live! experience on the X360.

Wireless isn't a strict requirement, as if you don't have a Wifi Router or a USB Wifi dongle for the PC, there will be (soonish!) as USB to Ethernet adapter for the Wii to let you connect it by cable to a router etc...

There's a friends type service on there using the inbuilt online code your Wii uses, which utilises some sort of vague messaging system, where I believe it shares info on what you're playing/what you have/your mii's. Apparently you can open up your Mii plaza for other random Miis to come and explore, and yours do the same to other people's.

So an opera browser, could you browse this forum on your wii? Could you do your home shopping on one  Or is it for browsing something apart from the internet

Aye, it's just because he said out of the box, which is of course correct. But yeah, wireless isn't a strict requirement, but wired won't be availabe out of the box :)

strange question (well slightly) but my friends keep telling me that downloading extra levels and so on will be free (so downloading more dungeons for zelda wont cost a dime) is that true?
