I have bought a SUPERMICRO X5DPI-G2 DUAL SOCKET 604 XEON MOTHERBOARD from my friend for £10. Can somebody please find me a graphics card that will work in this motherboard. I dont want to have to spend more than £25 on this graphics card and I would preferably like to get it from overclockers or eBay. For the PSU can someone find a power supply with the right connectors please. The computer will have 2 hard drives connected both at 7200rpm (they are IDE, Thqts why i took the board. That and i had ram and a CPU lying around that will work in it). The graphics card can be basic, nothing graphical intensive is going to be run.

well it has onboard, not sure if its enough for what you need :

ATI Rage XL SVGA PCI video controller with 8 MB of video memory

other than that you'll need to look for PCI cards NOT pci-e, as the mobo has PCI-X expansion port not a PCI-E one.

Could look at something like the ATI 5450 or nvidia gt 610.

psu wise have a look at the following :

according to the mobo the psu needs to match the following criteria :

To ensure system stability, a 350W (minimum) ATX power supply [8-pin +12V AND (20 or 24-pin)] is required.

unfortunately not all the psu's list the connectors they have, so might be worth getting in touch with ocuk and asking them what they have that meets your needs.

The above link will give you some pointers. Seems like a lot of money to spend. I guess you have a suitable case, CPU's, DDR 200 registered memory?

Note, To ensure system stability, a 350W (minimum) ATX power supply [8-pin +12V AND (20 or 24-pin)] is required. I guess this will be pretty easy to find. you can get an adapter for the 24pin if needed. 8pin for the motherboard is the one to ensure.

Sadly with IDE and standard USB, I can't imagine it bettering even the most basic old sata/usb2 equiped 775 desktop for home server apps? I could be wrong.

The cost of getting a second hand PCI graphics inc postage, and a PSU, even second hand, would probably cost more than a second hand complete socket 775 or better tower of basic spec with a 500gb sata drive. Or a second hand server.
