a few months ago i changed my motherboard to a Asus P5Q Deluxe and im thinking of replacing my current ram with something better

at the moment i have Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX so id like to get 8GB of whatever is suggested

im pretty sure my current ram is DDR2 800 but on my motherboard box it says that it supports DDR2 1200, any suggestions?

id also like to get memory that wont need any messing around to get working, i just want to put it in and power on :p on my old system i had to mess around in the bios with a single stick installed before i could use it

You could always add a 2nd pair of what you have now unless you are thinking of buying 2 x 4GB modules. Ideally though, you need to get the same revision of memory as mixing different revisions is not a good idea.

thanks for the link :) im guessing thats faster than the ram i have at the moment (im a bit clueless when it comes to memory) so would i notice any performance increase if i got 2 of those (8gb total) to replace my current ram?

well i was having problems with a few games so the first thing i thought of was the memory ;) but since then i have tried my friends 8800gt in my system and the problems are gone so now it looks like my graphics card is faulty

thanks for all the advice tho :)

gtx280, its not really like normal slowdown as my framerate still seems high when it happens, its more like stuttering

Thats a bit odd if your GTX280 is having problems but the 8800GT which is much slower works fine. What is your PSU, that or driver issue is all I could think of to cause problems?
