This isn't a troll thread, it's a genuine thread. I don't understand WWE - as far as I am aware all the moves are rehearsed, I think that much is obvious. The story line looks rehearsed. Stuff like being completely out of it for 10 minutes and accepting beats, and then suddenly have a surge in strength to pin the opponent confuses me.

Why is this a sport? :)

its 'sports entertainment'.

also, not everything is rehearsed, there are many times where a ref is calling the fight and other things also.
the end results should always be as planned though.

It's like a violent comedy version of a soap opera. Story lines that culminate in a big fight at the end :p

Pretty accurate :p
I dont watch it anymore but every "adult" knows its fake (apart from some American ones maybe (?) lol.
Just a sort of entertainment

Yeah it's really kinda aimed at kids, it's just meant to be a good laugh. It can be good fun when done right but the glory days are well and truly gone.

It might help to think of it as a pantomime with more athleticism. Everything is exaggerated with the good guys (heros) and bad guys (heels), the (contrived) storylines, the audience involvement etc.

There's no doubt that the wrestlers have to deal with a very physically demanding schedule since they sometimes wrestle several times in a week and even if the moves are made to look more painful than they are at times it's still likely to take a toll if you're being slammed into a mat over and over again. There's also a rather obvious potential for it to go wrong if there's a slight miscalculation in the execution of the moves.

What are you, 10 years old? Who in this day in age doesn't know what pro wrestling is. Its not a sport, its not "real". Its a show, its scripted, its for **** and giggles.

What keeps me coming back to it is just how bizare it can be. Getting to read about what goes on backstage and read about the personal lifes of wrestlers is interesting. A lot of these guys are seriously messed up.

Jeff Hardy turned up stoned and drunk for a ppv match. lol TNA.

Theres always a talking point in pro wrestling.

:p

Now its for kids, I got into wrestling in 98 when it was adults. The stuff The Rock and Y2J would say to Steph was hilarious. Now we have fruity pebbles as an insult. :/

House shows are fun. I've been to a few and saw guys like Eddie, Benoit, Brock Lesner, Cena, DX, Ric Flair, Big Show, Kane, Orton, Edge, ect and they do things in house shows you will never see live on tv. Its a totally different show.

The injuries they get is usually by accident.
