After seeing the cheap ram ive decided now is the time to consider an upgrade.

Can anyone spec me a good motherboard and cpu to go with it.

Oh.. and a graphics card too.

Budget.. hmm...

£300

Thanks

Slightly overbudget, but worth the extra £25:

Sweet jesus, just a bit of an improvement then ;)

Seriously, this will blow you away. As for the RMA on the Tagan, its really easy, the company that does the RMAs is excellent. You should have a PSU back within a week.

Close to £300ish.

Nice bit of clocking and you have a excellent gaming pc. An extra £20 would be good for a DS3P though.

If thats too much then how about this:-

Gigabyte GA_965P_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - OEM £50.00 (£58.75)
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £99.99 (£117.49)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail £94.99
(£111.61)
Sub Total : £244.98
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
City Link Parcel Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri)
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £8.25
Vat : £44.32
Total : £297.55

The motherboard is a OEM version in the clearance section but that is a bargain price for that board.

**Edit** Did'nt realise you wanted the ram as well for £300. :o

In which case how about:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail £65.99
(£77.54)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - OEM £50.00 (£58.75)
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £99.99 (£117.49)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) £49.99 (£58.74)
Sub Total : £265.97
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
City Link Parcel Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri)
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £8.25
Vat : £47.99
Total : £322.21

Only £22 over budget and it's still the same clearance mobo. Just dropped the cpu down to a 4300 and added the ram.

You can save about £10 by going for the Gigabyte S3 (same as the DS3 but without solid capacitors) and Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 TwinX and it won't make much difference if the budget is really important otherwise supernova9 has given you a good specification. :)

Gigabyte GA-945PL-S3 Socket 775 onboard audio ATX

is that the s3 thing that you mean?

im really out of touch with all this, as you can tell from my crap spec lol

Im on a pretty tight budget ya see, but at the same time, i want it to be pretty upgradeable for a while.

Thanks for the speedy replies people
