Can someone please help with my fx6300..

Ah right. You seem amazingly not bothered by all this happening ;)

As most games only use 2-4 cores, the 6300 will perform basically identically to an 8320/8350 at the same clocks for those, and the 6300 can usually clock higher because of the fewer cores.

i am bothered, im just trying not to go mental :D

i suffer with anxiety so keeping my cool is pretty hard :(

and this hasnt helped!

It'll all get sorted soon enough and you've got a better board now too. Most people would be fed up with all the testing, exchanging bits and going back and forth you've done the last couple of days!

If you do sell it on make sure that the buyer understands that it has problems so there is no comeback to you. I think you will take a big hit in the price though. Just do a RMA to the place you bought it from if less than a year old. If over a year old go through AMD. They will send you a shiny new cpu. In the meantime pick up a cheap Athlon ll X2 or similar to tide you over.

Strangely enough that's the second AMD cpu to have a memory related problem on here over the past couple of weeks. See Teppics thread here.

Yup, but my issue was about the IMC not coping with higher speeds - it ran absolutely fine at 1600MHz. I'm still waiting for the email from AMD to say they've tested it. It was £8.50 or something to post to the Netherlands with a signature on delivery.

Iv decided to rma it with amd. Im just waiting for an email with ticket number ect ect.

Gunna luck for a cheap athlon like pastymucher said just to put me on.

Seems the rightnway to go around it :)
