Hi all

Im trying to sory out costs etc. But have no idea ans I have never done H2o cooling.

New set up would be

Q6600
8800 GTS (512)

I need to know if the cost is worth it over air cooling.

I know I will get better clocks, under water but is it worth the extra cost.

Thanx you CV

Somethin along the lines of..

DDC Pro with Custom Top
360mm Radiator (Black Ice GTX?)
EK Supreme, D-Tek Fuzion or XSPC Delta CPU Block
EK FC8800-GTS GPU Block
Reservoir of your choice

Then all the usually odds and sods like hose, fans, clips & coolant.

:)

The cost is not worth it - performance / £ - you'd be best off buying more expensive components and clocking them with low cost/stock air cooling.

Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and Accelero S1 + 120mm £1 fan are going to get you 50-90% of the performance gains from clocking for 10% of the cost of water cooling.

Where water, water chilling, phase and phase cascade come into their own is in getting the extra performance from high cost components when nothing more powerful is available on the market. Water cooling and water chilling when done with a bong can also provide quieter cooling (subjectively speaking) than air cooling can for the same cost.

As above, water cooling is now really imo for fun, extremer overclocking exploits, silencing and ""pimping"" a rig with UV pipes and stuff. Ofc it wasn't always like it, and i still see water cooling as something to do, but air coolers have advanced a lot and there is a smaller marginal gap between the 2. Q6600, people are getting this to 3.6 on air, water around 3.9 - 4ish i believe so not a massive difference.
