Can someone please tell me Basics on Guild wars 2

I am new to this whole MMO gaming scene. I have played DC universe so i know terms like DPS, tank healer e.t.c.

I really want to play guild wars 2 can someone link me a video/ tell me the basics on how to play that game, such as gear, guild wars lingo, or anything really so i have some knowledege on how to play the game before i buy it
 
I couldn't really tell you as I have only played about 2hours so far lol but I am a human elementalist currently. Only a level 5, but not struggled at all so far :)
 
There really isn't the Tank/Healer/DPS thing in GW2. You can tailor the skills and traits you choose to favour healing or tanking, but there isn't that specific role mechanic built in like there is with most MMO's. I suggest getting it without a second thought. Play it for a bit, get used to it, jump into some World vs World... Never look back, you'll love it, trust me :)

What would you advise a person like me to do? get to level cap THEN go world vs world?

Can i do my quest in world vs world?
 
Just play it. Read the wiki. Try all of it. Ask questions in game. You can jump straight into World vs World very early as it levels you up to 80 for it. There are benefits to being a higher level as you unlock more skill slots. But it doesn't detract from the enjoyment in my experience.
