Work for people ?

It's a dedicated server, and for some reason to me it keeps going down. My host tells me its running fine though.

I don't need tech help really, I just wanted the GD to quickly give me a "yep works for me" or a "Nope" so I can inform my host.

Will edit my post if it becomes available.

BTW - at the moment it will just be a holding page - but for me it keeps timing out and not even showing that

Second time today about this issue?

If so, give them some time, DNS changes can take a while to propagate.

It was working, then went down.

I also can't access via control panels or remote desktop on the server :/

So perhaps, they were having problems with whatever server is on whatever external IP they have assigned to your domain name. Perhaps it has been switched to a new server on a new external IP. If this is the case, the domain name propagation will most likely not finish for 12-24 hours.

We only had the server for about 5 days.

I am talking to their live support now - so hopefully it will be sorted. It is a problem their end though. Because it works for 30 mins, stops, kick me out of whatever I am doing (I was just trying to FTP) or randomly stop serving web pages.

Whether the server is up or not I'm getting failed DNS resolution with that hostname .... could be that the server is up but it's DNS record is wrong/missing?

Have you an ip address which it is on you could try connecting to it on ...

If they have had to move nameservers this will also take time to propagate. It seems likely if they are having DNS issues.

I'd try connecting via IP like suggested above.
