Hey folks,

I have decided to go for an i7-4970k over my original choice of the 5930k due to what ill use the pc for and i probably wont need what the 5930k offers right now.

So to make things a bit easier I was going to pick a processor/mobo combo bundle from OC but unsure what make to go for really? Id like something fairly decent but im not quite positive what I should be looking for?

If anyone has some input or insightsto this I would be very greatful! I should add this will be used for a gaming pc!

Cheers!

PS new case arrived so the build is now on :D

Doh forgot that too lol.

well ive got 1.5 - 2k budget for whole computer so dont mind spending a bit more to buy a good one.

was recommended to me by another forum user, my pc is around 7 years old now and only ever upgraded the gfx card to a 460 gtx about 5 years ago?

I just want to buy something more top end that will be strong and last a few years to come. Gfx wise I intend to go for the 980, unsure which make still though!

Is the 4970 adecent choice or is the 5930/5820 and x99 worth a punt?

Cheers

So do you just want a spec for a Motherboard/Cpu ? Or for a full PC (Minus the Case) ?

Assuming your new case is ATX then these two Gigabyte bundles are good. The Black edition board has a 2 for 1 upgrade offer (See link below).
