Hi Guys

Im buying a new setup but im not sure what MATX I need, i do play a lot of game but I don’t have plans to over clock the processor. The rest of the system:

Intel Quad Core Q6600
DDR 2 – 4 Gig
Zotac GeForce 9800 GTX

Thanks,

I take it you want a matx motherboard? or matx case? or motherboard to fit an matx case?
Is your 4gb of ram 2x2gb? If its 4x1gb you'll struggle to find a matx case with 4 ram slots.
Will a matx board/case fit a card like the 9800GTX?

ahaa....ok so you need a matx mobo for your SG01 (nice case btw :) )

Hmm....is your gfx card full length. I'll bet it is. Do you think it will fit?

is your q6600 the g0 stepping or the original hotter one?

I ask because I'm after a new case and have been looking at the Sugo SG01, but I'm not entirly convinced a decent enough heatsink will fit that will cool the hotter (non g0 stepping) q6600 I have

Look at the Dfi,great matx board. There was also a motherboard called Gigabyte G33ds2r or something like that but you won't buy new anymore. I think both can manage Q6600 easily.

i'm using the Gigabyte MA-G33-DS2R with a quad and its a great board. I buoght it to replace an Abit (F1HD or somethin?) because I was getting shockingly bad windows loading times and HDD performance.

This Gigabyte board has been rock solid for over a year now but it is getting on a bit compared to current gen boards!

Another +1 for the G33-DSR2 and it's later revision the S2. Had both, currently got a DSR2 as the S2 died in a freak BIOS flashing incident.

If you do decided to OC then you'll get a decent FSB out of both, just need to make sure there's ample air flow in the case as the NB gets rather toasty. Took an e2160 to 3.2ghz, an e6600 to 3.6, and an e8400 to near as damn 3.8. Had a q6600 up to 3.2 but it was an average chip IMO.
