Thanks! :D

5. ip's are internal networks!

on the pc with the ftp on it, go to whatismyip.org and tell us that

it'll work if you've forwarded port 21 to the local ip of the ftp machine

Yes, I think it's because it's a dynimic IP? I haven't opened up port 21 will now. Server is at work.

I got the 41 address off the mentioned website.

Router looks very hard...hmm..

It's asking for source ip destination ip ect..:(

Unfortuantly I am the only one doing the network here.

look on portfordward.com for your router, should make sense there :)

should be able to find your external ip address from within the router too mate

this will get sorted in this forum mate, Networks is the friendliest section of the whole forum imo

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! :D

It's Shiro router. I won't be able to do much now, until I am back at work tomorrow. So can I post here tomorrow to carry on with this?

source IP is *probably* sources outside from the internet.
destination IP im 99% sure is the IP of the server itself.

source IP has to be set to *anything* and destination IP to the servers internal IP address :)

That makes sense. Will give it a shot tomorrow. :D

An internl private IP address (such as 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x) is no use as these are not routeable across the internet. Who is your ISP? Do they use Semi-static/dynamic IP addresses? If they use dynamic IP adresses then you should be able to request a static IP address but they will most likely charge extra for this.
