Hi :)

having trouble with my routor and security system.

The system I have is a Kguard NS-801 system. 8 channel.

I have all that setup ready togo.

the problem im having is, I have a technicolour TG582n routor for my business, and for the life of me, I can not get it to port forward port 80.

I have gone through the the list of ports already on the routor, and there was one that was port 80.. so I deleted it.

now when I try and port forward it and assign it to my device. it just comes up saying.. The port configuration of the port forward conflicts with an already assigned port forward. Assigning this port forward is not possible.

I cant find anywhere on the routor to see if the port 80 is already assigned to another device..

has anyone had this problem before ?, or using the same setup ?

I just keep going round in circles and its driving me mad!

al I want to do is be able to watch my cameras over the internet so I can check every now and then :(

any suggestions, or if you need more info, let me know..

im even open to remote access if you think you can do it, and know what you are doing!

ye, all I keep getting is that same message saying it cant be assigned because its assigned to something else.. but its not!
iv deleted every single port forward on the router lol, and checked everything that's connected to the router.

:/

You probably don't need to port forward, what you need to do is NAT.

The Kguard NS-801 will have an internal ip. What you will need to do is create a nat rule that when you go to your external internet ip on a specific port it forwards that to a specific internal ip on the lan with the specific port.

I am not sure if that router supports nat. I looked on portforward.com for an example of a nat on that router and it only showed the port forward.

I assume you are trying to open the cctv up to the internet so that you can connect to the cctv outside of the office?

It may be a better way is to simply use a program like teamviewer and then connect to your local network and view the cctv. It has better compression and more secure.

The router will probably be listening on Port 80 for it's external management. Turn that off, or change it's port then you'll set up your own 80 forward.

Firstly, I'd make sure you have all your drivers on your computer are up to date and the firmware on the router/switch (or network device) is updated and not bricked or semi-bricked (causing certain functions to not run and become unresponsive). Needy any help, feel free to ask me for help over teamviewer. :)

I'd be happy to 'assist' you. :D Or at least try assisting you.

This was what I was thinking. Check your settings, OP. You might be able to change the port it's listening on if you really want to be able to manage the router from that thar interweb.

He doesn't need to do static NAT. Chances are he'll only have a single IP address.

@jonnyp1993 Use a port other than 80 if possible.

I am not sure about that, the Kguard NS-801 looks like a network enabled security system with its own ip address. It supports iphone and tablet application connecting to it. So i think it may need a nat. Using a port other than 80 is a good idea though.

Nothing significant about a device having its own local IP address. The apps in question have to be pointed at a WAN IP and port. Everything should work as long as he forwards the correct ports to the local IP.

hi guys, sorry for the late reply lol :D

been mega busy, and havnt had time to put my time into this issue.

anyway, im back now.

the 801 is suppose to be setup ready for internet viewing via apps or windows apps, but its not working still.

iv managed to open the other ports but still can not use port 80 !

I cant change it from port 80 to use a different one as the 801 dosnt allow me to change it.

after triple checking everything on the 801 system, and on the laptop, phones, tablet etc etc.. the problem is.. the routor!

the routor has a internal code that cant be changed, and it uses port 80 :/

I did read somewhere that I can by-pass it, but I don't want to break anything lol.

Where did the TG582n come from?

I just tried opening port 80 on the TG582n PlusNet supplied, and it worked first time.

There's also the option for port translation. You could open a different port on the router and still have it pointing to port 80 on the CCTV.
