Can the 1080ti handle it?

I'm currently running a sapphire R9 295x2.
I had three 1920x1080 monitors connected to it until I got an Oculus Rift.
I found that the Oculus just wouldn't work with 3 monitors plugged into the card, despite having the ports available.
Now I have to have the main middle screen plugged into the card with the Oculus and the 2 side screens are plugged into my motherboard..No more spanning when not using the Rift.
In looking at changing to a 1080ti next month but before I make the jump can anyone tell me if I'll be able to have my 3 monitors and the rift plugged in or will the side monitors still have to be plugged into the mobo?

Apparently a GTX1080 supports up to 4 monitors now?

(you answered the guys question with a question, I couldn't resist it! :D )

This isn't anything to do with what the card supports, it's more down to the lack of optimization in the Oculus software.

My old GTX 580 handled three monitors just fine, as did my 780ti never mind a 1080ti!

Unplug the rift until you want to use it and carry on enjoying surround in the meantime.

My current card handles 3 monitors just fine, as I'm sure does the 1080ti. But it's the addition of the Rift that then causes it to throw its toys out the pram.
Unplugging it is easier said than done when getting to the back of the PC is not an easy task.

Use a short hdmi extension cable.

well i dont have 3 monitors connected but i do have 1 x predator x34a running at 1440p 100 hz and a phillips 40" 4k running at obviously 4k 60 hz and the oculus rift working so i should imagine 3 monitors working as it has enough ports. but im only guessing.

thats on a 1080ti, well i actually have 2 but the oculus will only use one so ive heard
