Can the Comet Lake memory controller run at 1:1 with 4000mhz RAM?

Thanks for the warning, if I disable PL2, will I be restricted to the stock CPU frequency?

Can the VRM temps be monitored on most motherboards?

Found a boxed 10900f (65 tdp) for around £300, wonder if I should try to get a refund on the 10700kf (£245 preowned), then install a 10 core instead?

Any thoughts about getting a 10900F instead of a 10700KF?

I've been thinking a 10 core CPU should keep up better with a Alder Lake CPU with 8 large cores next year.

Also useful for things like compiling shaders in Unreal Engine 4.

I've had a look and the 10900k can get pretty damn hot, without a good cooler. I assume the same is true for the 10900F at turbo, which consumes upto 224w (PL2).

Id imagine something like a Noctua NH-D15 would cool it well, but it's expensive (~£80). Not to keen on the idea of watercooling.

Or, the cheaper NH-U14S, with a rated tdp of 220W, would be good enough (75 degrees celsius at load, turbo enabled), according to this:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-10900/19.html

Maybe these should come standard on high end CPUs ;). Runs at 85 degrees load on 10900k though...

I wonder if Noctua will make a mounting kit to fit their current coolers on Alder Lake?

I've heard a Hyper 212 Evo (which I already have) can cool a 10700K at turbo, so I think I'll stick with that :)
