Can the iphone accept SDHC or SDXC cards?

Hey Guys,

If I got the iphone 8 or 16GB can I expand the memory using a memory card lick a 64GB SDHC for movie and music, pictures playback?

They will never do it, otherwise it makes no sense to release 2 different size models.
