I have just got hold of an ASUS M2N32-SLI DLX mobo, an AMD X2 6000 processor and 2 X 1gb Crucial 6400 ram and an X300 PCI-E graphics card (Which I use for testing purposes).
I want to test everything works before I upgrade my computer.
In my spares box I have a 230watt PSU with a 20pin connector, but the Asus board has a 24 pin connector, will it be ok to use the 20pin connector just to try things out, or will I have to take a PSU out of one of my other computers.

20pins works in 24 and its ok if your not going SLI and mobos needs extra power but that PSU is well underpowered, it may be ok as of GPU you are testing mobo with though.

Thanks for that reply, I am only going to use it to test the motherboard out.
All it will have in it is the mobo, processor, 1gb ram and old faithful the X300.

A word of warning if any one else tries to use an old power supply with a new Asus board, it will not boot as it also requires the ATX12V plug as well.
The PSU must be version 2.
