can this laptop run any games? it doesn't look that way

got an HP probook 4720s with i3 CPU, 3gb RAM, radeon HD 4500, 17" screen (1600*900) - latest drivers installed on a fresh win7 ultimate 64bit.

i can't even run games like CSS on lowest settings, it lags badly, not getting over 20 fps - this is a bit weird i think, what do you guys say? just not strong enough hardware or something is wrong?

it even lags in COD-BLACK OPS settings menu...

hmm the 4500 series were pretty low end for their time but they should run cod games and source games at lowest settings ok according to benchmarkas at this site http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4570.13885.0.html

maybe try lowering the res to nearer 720p. make sure anti aliasing and stuff like that is not forced in the catalyst control centre,

CSS is more CPU bound but even that gpu would be pushing it since the Source Engine updates iirc. Quake Live should be ok and anything pre 2004/5
