I'm putting together a spare pc from parts that I have lying around. When it came to fitting the graphics card I noticed that the spare motherboard P3 power connector would fit in one of the graphics cards 2 power sockets. I chickened out of trying it out and decided to ask first in case it was wired different from a normal grfx power supply cable, I'm assuming both card and m/board voltages are the same, then again maybe not.

Don't plug the P3 connector into a GFX card. Likewise don't plug a pci-e connector into the 8-pin CPU plug. Just because the plug fits, it doesn't mean that it's wired up the same or operates at the same current/voltage. You may end up frying your gfx card.

Wouldn't have fit unless you really jammed it together. Good thing you didnt though...
