Can threadlock do metal to plastic?

I've got some threadlock to try to stop the cement blocks on my washing machine from shaking loose but I have just taken one of the bolts out and it goes straight into a PLASTIC thread!!

Is it safe to put the thread lock on this? It says it is suitable for metals, but doesn't mention plastic :(

I don't want to risk it if it could mess it up, but I really want to fix the machine :(

The stuff I've got is:

Devcon Multi-Purpose Blue Threadlocker - Prime Lok Type 245 BLUE Threadlock formula Part no. 24569

Should be fine. Threadlock stays kind of soft so it stops the screw winding itself out. Might be worth trying a bit on the outside of the plastic first just in case the solvent attacks the plastic but it should be ok.

Edit: just re-read it's probably screwed into the tub which is resin, not plastic.

any room for some sort of locking nut ?

You can't get to that side of the bolt, it just screws straight into the drum of the machine through a hole in the concrete block.

I've put a little drop on a different bit of the drum to see if it does anything bad.

Pain in the butt all this.

Bugger!! I just found this after I've already opened the threadlock so i can't take it back......

Threadlockers
I used Threadlocker on a metal bolt and a plastic nut. Why didn't it stick?

Threadlockers should only be used on metal-to-metal applications, because the Threadlocker turns into a plastic-like substance.

bum.
