hi,

superhub has died and im looking to replace it as the replacement wont be with me until sometime next week.

virgin say that i can only use the one they send as anything else wont activate and my previous dlink 615 wont work.

anyone know a way around this and any ideas on a replacment if i can.

cheers

Superhub needs to be used as the modem, but you can use your own router if you put the Superhub into "Modem mode".

I use the Superhub as a modem and wireless router, and then a DIR-615 as a WAP/router.

When I got rid of Virgin, I kept the old modem. I then decided to go back with Virgin; the old modem didn't work. I don't know whether it was because the modem was older, but they both looked the same. That's just my experience with them.

guess it must be the same with mine, old modem i have is a Ubee ?, called virgin and they said it won't work :(, but the dlink 615 i know will as other people use it fine.

wouldn't be so bad but the fact they say it wont be with me til tuesday when they lock things down so tightly is ridiculous, i'm without a service for 3 days (including sunday), when i could order something from hong kong and get it delivered quicker than they can get a new router to me.

they may have there reasons for locking things down so tightly to hardware but at least provide a delivery service that works a damn sight quicker than this crap.

i couldn't understand why people complained about the customer service before, now i can fully, and my sympathies are with anyone that has to talk to them :(.
