can u get HE discount in apple shops?

just wondered, mate wants to get a macbook before uni next week so was hoping if he could go into a apple shop (e.g. manchester trafford) and pick up one ?

what proof does he need for HE Discount? just a student card. Also what about the companion offers like the ipod/printer deals, can he collect them here and send off for the rebate still ?

Think its online only as you have to order thru a computer connected to the university network to prove its HE. Not sure tho.
 
I should really know :p been doing training all week but yeah they have lists of institutions which qualify for the HE discount, so I do think they offer HE discount in stores.

Just make sure you take in some ID to show you are at uni :) your uni card at a minimum, but maybe your acceptance letter to be doubly sure?

As for the rebate, not entirely sure but I would assume you could send them off later.
 
I can confirm that you can indeed recieve a HE discount in our stores - you would be requested to show ID, if you don't yet have any University identification then you will be required to show your University acceptance letter.

It's all good :)

cool. what about claiming the ipod/printer etc. just saves waiting weeks for delivery ordering online you see as want it next week if poss.

Funny thing about the shops but not over the phone?
I ordered £1000 worth of Apple items with HE discount and there was no ID check apart from "Which University are you currently studying in?" and "What Course?"
 
I've gone in before without ID and they accepted me logging into my timetable and email system as proof I was enrolled there.

You can order the iPod under the HE discount - make sure you get the iPod protection plan - it's around 70% less with the discount and extends your warranty an extra year. Highly worth it.

There are also good offers on printers at the moment.

Doesn't the HE agreement extend warranty to 3 years?

AFAIK, it's only phone support that is then included on top of that 3 years?

Do you work in the Trafford Centre one? I went in there recently and asked a chap about the HE discount. He showed me a file with all the uni's and discounts they could recieve.
