Can u spec me please ?

FSX is more CPU intensive and apparently runs better on an nVidia card. Not being a fanboy here as I play FSX and I use ATI. :p

Should run stable at i5 looks like... Would it be worth it going SLI ? Lets say 2x 460 1gb or stick with 480 ? Also if i do decide to go for i5 760 then how much will i be able to overclock it ? Cheers guys

You're right - looking here two 460s in SLI beat a 480 pretty convincingly in most cases for the same price...

However going sli means you need a more expensive mobo that supports it like this Gigabyte UD4, but it just about comes in on budget...

2x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £357.18
Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £157.99
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £149.99
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-00599) £82.99
Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMD4GX3M2A1600C9) £79.89
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply £52.98
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £44.99
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £43.99
Titan TTC-NK85TZ/V2 Fenrir CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1366) £29.99
Sub Total : £999.98

That I think would offer much better gaming performance than the i7 single 470 spec. You could always keep to a single GPU solution with a 480 which allows you to save £40 on the mobo, but performance not quite as good. The i5 760 should see you to 4GHz no problem (my 750 does it fine), though I think it's correct to say an i7 might clock a little higher, say 4.2GHz, but I still dont think it's worth the extra for gaming to go 1366 platform i7.

well i think im gonna go for this one above. just a one question, will that psu hande I5 and both gpu? also will every game use sli?
thanks

Yeah my bad you're probably sailing close to the wind with that PSU and SLI, especially if you overclock. Probably worth spending a little more on an SLI certified PSU.

Aarrrghhhh what's happened - the this week offers have all changed which has screwed things up a little. Will have another look...

OK what about this...

Damnit - the Gigabyte mobo is now out of stock and there's a distinct lack of SLI supporting P55 mobos! You could give them a call about stock, or alternatively go back to the cheaper x-fire only Asus and switch camps to Ati..

2x XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 "AVP Edition" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £394.78
Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £149.21
Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £109.99
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-00599) £79.89
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £76.36
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) £73.99

2 5850s only a few £ more thanks to the cheaper mobo, and possibly even better in performance. You could probably flog the spare AVP voucher too :)

Fair enough - your call. There is another SLI supporting Asus, but it's £9 more and is an older model that doesn't support USB3 or SATA 6Gb/s, so the Giga would be better. If it isn't going to be back in stock soon, you could always get the mobo somewhere else (sorry OCUK) where it might even be available cheaper ;)

that psu is no good, only two pcie connectors, you need four.

buy,

corsair HX 650,750W

Antec new truepower 650,750w

all four above have modular cables , and the right number of connectors.

if your going SLI, then i think an i7 would be better.

as ull be paying £150 for an SLI motherboard for the i5.

u can get a 1366 one that does SLI for cheaper, £140 currently.

then the CPU is only £50 more for the i7 930.
so basically there would be a £40 difference between the i5 and i7, making the i7 definatly worth it

there is of course the memory which can be more expensive, tripple channel, meaning u get 6gb instead of 4gb, but u can always run it with 4gb for the same price as the i5.
