Can we get a better deal?

I move into this shared house 2 weeks ago, the Landlady said she's happy for me to look for better deals.

I'm not sure what Virgin Media package we're on, but the box is tiny and there is hardly any music channels, and I don't think we can pause and rewind TV. The Internet connection is 8-10mbit, and it's costing around 37 quid a month.

Any potential better deals? Would it be cheaper to move to Sky?

I'm in Manchester, everything is apparently available here.

The ideal package would be a combo with TV + Internet.

You should be getting a better deal than that without changing provider. I only pay a few quid more than that for phone, 100mb BB and the basic TV package from them. I'd definitely give them a call or switch to a sky fibre package if its available.

If I was you I would stay with virgin, if you go sky I'm sure that this fibre would be fttc and you would need to have phone line so that's additional charges, with virgin you don't need to have phone line if you are able to receive cable services which you are. Your landlady might have been long time with virgin she pays old charges or should say old price package give them ring and see what they can do.
