Another one has vanished from this forum and all it seemed to contain was legal advice that didn't touch on anything "dodgy".

Fair enough if OcUK want us to stop discussing it here - but could we please have some kind of guidelines? Some posts still seem to exist so it'd be nice to know what makes them acceptable and others not.

The one's I've removed have either fallen foul of:
I think a good guideline would be no discussion or mention of sites that index usenet.

or are basically "so yeah, I want to download Linux ISOs *nudge* *nudge* ;) ;)", and they're the only ones I can see that have been removed lately.
I've posted warnings about the former before, and the latter's covered by the FAQ (and should also be common sense).

Obviously, anything where people are blatently talking about downloading illegal content or "linux ISOs" should be removed. No arguments there.

The last removed thread didn't seem to be going into those groups and was simply help in setting up newsgroup clients/plugins...but I can see what you mean /re talking about indexing sites.

I just wanted an authorative answer as to what was okay and what wasn't. Now I know, thanks :)

We were discussing how said plugin works with indexing sites though, so again we'd strayed onto dodgy ground.

Yes, my wording was bad - I meant to say that "we weren't discussing downloading illegal stuff, but we were discussing indexing sites".
