If not, apologies and /thread.
Before I start, I'm a n00b when it comes to Usenet. So short words please!
I'm thinking of moving away from Torrents, and switching to Usenet. AFAIK it's built on the good old newsgroups days, but these days does binary files too. And like Torrents you point your download program at it and it then downloads all the relevant files (RARs or whatever) and then expands them to be the original file.
Now obviously I'm only going to be using Usenet for my Linux Distros.
Which providers are any good? Giganews and Astraweb are two I've heard of. However obviously I don't want to join and then find that it's slow or naff file selection and I'd have been better sticking with torrents for my Linux Distros.
So yeah, educate me on Usenet!
EDIT: Oh and SSL is a must. Want to keep my Linux Distro activity quiet.
