can xbox 360 use .srt subs?

can a 360 play video and use .srt to put in subs? tried to watch a film last night but subs would not work.

Not that I know of, you need hardcoded subtitles I think.

they are hard to find :/

is there an way to use the .srt to do this?

Could try hardcoding them with avidemux
