Can you buy a retail COD4 and register it on Steam?

Hi

Does anyone know if you can buy a retail disk of COD4 from somewhere, and then register it on Steam so youu then download the game through steam, or instal it in the steam directory? I really like Steam looking after my games so I dont need to worry about the disk, however im not to keep on the $70 Steam price.

If you just want it to work through steam, you can add it in the "My Games" tab theres a button down the bottom for it. Although it wont automatically update patches or anything like that.

I want to have the steam version of COD4, so I dont need to keep the disks etc, and can just download it etc, and have Steam manage my updates, but i refuse to pay the $70 + tax that it is in the Steam store!
