I've got a 20" widescreen with max res of 1680x1050 but dont worry about that because I'm going to be buying a 24" monitor with resolutions at 1900xwhatever and higher.

Can anyone please view the rest of the spec though and please say if everything is ok? And also tell me which PSU to buy?

Like is the motherboard ok? is the ram ok? is the cpu ok? any problems with anything that you can see?

Thanks in advance,

Personally i would get an intel board - P5Q maybe. 600 - 700 watt PSU should be fine - Corsair HX620 gets good press round here. Another vote for 4870 and sammy f1 too

swap the memory for the geil black dragon pc6400.

i'd think about changing the sound card for a Asus Xonar.

as already mentioned asus p5q mobo (which model depends on u're budget), and deffo the 4870 over the nvidia gfx card.

hdd wise depends on u're budget samsung f1 640gb or the 1tb version.

Well I've always been with ATI and I'm wanting to stick with Nvidia this time.

Also what is wrong with the motherboard and memory I chose? they are part of a three peice bundle with OCUK which means that they're all compatible which is why I wanted to get that bundle?

But is there something wrong with them? is the motherboard rubish? is the memory slow or something?

And which p5q mobo did you mean? Can you give me a link?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks mp260767 and everyone else for your replies so far. I hope I'm not annoying anyone with my questions.

My budget is £1000 I probably should have said that in the beggining of my thread.

Well if your saying that motherboard is better then the one I chose I'll get that one? But is there nothing better because I can afford to spend more on a motherboard, like £150.

Also I am wanting to go SLI as I'm going to buy this PC now and then its my birthday in september so I'll buy another graphics card then, so I really do want a motherboard that supports SLI for two Nvidia graphics cards.....

And also I have been looking athe PSU section but I still dont know how to pick a PSU? Will 650 watts power one of the latest PC's?

I'm wanting a PSU that has:

  • Cables that you can unplug.
  • Cables that are in those tubes that are nice and tidy
  • the right wottage to power the latest hardware
  • silent
  • and just overall amazing
  • but dont want to spend £150
  • looking more around £70 max if at all possible

Thanks in advance,
