Can you connect VGA and HDMI to a monitor at the same time?

As title really. I have two PCs. One is running a DVI cable which turns into HDMI through an adapter that plugs into the monitor.

I want to link the other PC to the monitor through its VGA port. Is this 'safe'?

I don't see why not I have Samsung Monitor connected with both DVI/VGA just use the selection button to switch between the two computers.

Thanks, I totally forget about the input selection. I remember my old Dell flatscreen had something saying "do NOT attach the VGA and DVI at the same time", but I think this was because it didn't have an input selection function.

Yes it's safe but you can only use one image source at a time
