• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Can you crossfire two different makes?

Yes,although you will need to have both cards running at the same clockspeeds IIRC.

However, the MSI 870A-G54 runs the second PCI-E slot at 4X meaning it is not capable of doing symmetrical Crossfire.

The cards do not have to be running at the same speeds & that's as even as far back as 1900xt CF.

Maybe that limitation is or was connected with SLI but its never been one with CF.

Crossfire is really tolerant of different cards. All it cares is that the cards have GPUs of the same or very similar design. Brand, clockspeed, shader count, memory size and model don't matter.

You can, for instance, crossfire a 512MB 4850 and a 1GB 4890.
