So I like many peeps run an HTPC the differance is mines a full blooded silent tower behind the TV.

I would like to replace the current setup with a slient I5 config but wanting best of both worlds I would still like to put in a decent gaming card.
The problem is of course any half decent gaming card puts noise and heat levels right up.

Now the case i use is an Antec 900 and when it gets to hot I can simply enable a couple of the fans and while gaming fan noise is not an issue.

The problem is when not gaming (99% of the time) I want the graphics card silent and ideally not even drawing power and no fans enabled.

Any way i can use onboard and software enable/disable a discrete card ?

And doing this via Lucid will completely shut down the discrete GPU power and all ?

If that is the case it is exactley the solution I am looking for.
