why? ive been told the cards perform more or less the same, well the 1900 is about 2fps better, and ill be loosing 2mb of cache, n gfx isnt mega important for me as i only play bf2. Rest of it is all compatible yargon?

The 6300, 6400's perform better on a 965 chipset, albeit through overclocking. The 6600 would perform better though at stock, obviously. AFA the graphics go id recommend the x1900gt as they are much quiter than the x1800xt's and about the same speeds. The x1900xt 256 is a different story though. Appreciably faster than the other two siblings.

Ahh rite kl, i would go the 1900gt but its guna cost me too much im already £100 over budget atm with a 6600 conroe replacing the 6300, lol im sure ill cope with the x1800xt if not ill buy an after market cooler ;) wouldnt believe i started on a £5/600 budget! lol

Silence. Prob is u buy X1800 and two weeks ltr u want an aftermarket cooler. X1900gt imo is on par if not faster in some/most games. Its debateable. Can u buy a decent aftermarket cooler for £15 that compares to ice?

they seemed to be fairley even matched, with the 1800 being the tiniest bit better over all, altho *** 1900 was far better on some titles, i only play bf2 and watch movies so i think the 1800 is for me, im £100 over budget as it is, lol

Thanks for your time.

Hope this helps

get an 1800 if you game below 1600 1200 resolution

get a DS3 and a 6300 if you want to overclock.

ye i only game at 1280x1024 or 1360x768, so im deffers sticking with the 1800.

As for ths cpu is the 6600 as its a conroe not better for gaming? plus it has a a cache twice the size of the 6300?

Bottom line is u gonna get better OC results with 6300, 6400. You gonna get better gaming experience with say 6300 + x1900xt 256 compared to 6600 + x1800xt, but to answer your question - the 6600 is gonna be faster, but u wont see that in games.

6300 it is! lol Im debating weath or not to stick with my 1800 or go for the 1900 now, ive heard its quieter, but im aware the x1800 is slightley better in certain games, also is it worth me putting this £15 difference towards a better cooler for the e6300?

I'm not up on my gfx cards at the moment, but I would have a look and see how well each of the cards overclocks ;)

Next I would look at which games I play and get the card that peformes best in them.

What cooling were you planning on getting/have you got?

In real terms you not gonna see the diff between 50fps and 54fps so either would do the job. Check which performs better in the games u like to play and go 4 that one.

Sorry Brocon - like u said

I only really play BF2, and if a game is realised similar to it i'd play that too.

I plan to have stock cooling on the Graphics card at first to see how it performs and if it needs aftermarket. Mite have stock on my e6300, chances are ill buy an aftermarket for that too, not sure which tho... have a nuther post asking advice on that in the gfx section.
