looking for the IP adress that will lead me to this page?

can anyone find one?

any lookup or anything i've done leads me to 84.40.17.27.... but if i put that into a browser i get a test page....

The site may not have a dedicated IP address, and is likely to just be one of many virtual hosts on the same IP.

simple, the server it is hosting on is 84.40.17.27 however, the server is programmed to read in where it is being referenced and redirect internally.

Another example, the website I do for one of my halftime jobs is http://www.talbotfashions.co.uk/ but if you do enter in the address 195.157.100.175 which is the host address, you get a company called "The Ragged Rascal" which is an online toy shop.

One day I registered a couple of new domains for the website, pointed them at the server without telling them, and they all came up Ragged Rascal, you can imagine I was quite embarrassed when a customer rang us up after seeing our web address in our catalogue and was quite confused :)

The server maybe be using host headers in which case it is impossible to access the site through direct IP addressing. It must have a full url with DNS resolution available to it.

Like previously said, it is a common way of hosting many websites on the same server using the same IP.

The IP 84.40.17.27 is home to 4 domains, and actually leads to . Entering that URL takes you to the desired homepage, but the IP doesn't have the same effect.

Is it possible to escape out of a subdomain through a URL?

Huh? :p

Presumably the OP wants to get around a web filter. The way web filters work is they check the host header in the request and, if it matches a 'banned' site, the proxy server will send back a warning page instead of the site requested. This is also the way the webserver works therefore there is no way around it without going through a second proxy outside of the corporate network.
