can you format a locked encrypted bitlocker drive

Yes. You just can't read the encrypted data.

Load up a Windows CD, and you can format it in the setup.

If it's a secondary HDD, you can do it from inside administrative tools->disk management.

found a back up of the data on that drive so i willnt loose much well nothing important so saves the effort of trying to unlock the drive when i get errors unlocking it was jsut worried that the drives cant be formated
