can you get a full car spec from the reg plate?

mmm an un badged bmw coupe i know shows up as Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1995CC on DVLA, but as BMW 318CI ES on that site. Can a 318 have a 1995 cc engine? And the ES spec is the BMW 'LX' spec, isn't it?

I thought he said the DVLA showed him the displacement? That site has more accurate info that the dvla lookup. The car I keep seeing on my daily commute isn't a replica. The dvla search returned unknown make, 1800cc iirc

tick it...tiiiiiiiiick iiiiiit :D

I just checked my old cars, and assuming uninsured = off the road (not a perfect assumption...) I found some of my old cars are dead :(

Unsuprisingly my 1993 306 (which had 100k on it when I sold it 6 years ago) and my 1994 mondeo (which had 140k on it 5 years ago) are both in the big scrapyard in the sky, but was shocked to see my 2000 Xsara (50k 4 years ago) is also uninsured - surely it cant be dead already?

Yeh possibly, obviously not being insured doesnt mean its dead.

Wasnt really a ***** car, a lovely 5 door 1.4 in that horrible metallic yellow. Not my finest motoring hour...
