Can you get low profile ddr4?

Im using an ID Cooling tower fan on my 5900x which came with one fan, but a bracket for a second. I have tried to fit a slimline fan albeit from a different brand, but i cant get it to fit, however fitting a near identical fan to what came with the cooler, covers the 1 ram slot. Ive only got tall viper ram and normal size vengeance, but even resting a non heat sink ddr3 ram stick cuts it close to fitting. I havent ran the computer long enough to test thermals with just the 1 fan, but i want the second fan so i can maximise cooling. The motherboard is an a520, so only got the 2 ram slots.

I know you could get ddr3 in low profile(half the size of normal ram) as i owned some before, but cant seem to find any ddr4 versions, so im wondering if they exist?

it would be nice to know for a future reference, but i have been able to mount the fan higher so it rests on top of the vipers, but its not too much taller than the heatsink the side panel shouldnt fit.

Sometimes known as LPX ram. I know Crucial do some. Example https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...0-mhz-amd-ryzen-tuned-ddr4-mem-my-4cl-cs.html

If those are still too high then I'm sure Samsung did some stuff without heatspreaders called their Samsung green range. Likely difficult to find now though. Apparently DDR3 only. :(
thanks for reply. i do have a stick of that ram which is only a little lower than the viper ram, but was still cutting it close.

pretty much resting the fan slightly on the fan only uncovers a few millimetres of the heat sink, so the fan still covers plenty. i havent test fitted the side panel yet, but looks in line with the rear chassis fan, so should close just fine.

i might buy some cheap used ram that has no cover to test though.

What is the exact cooler?

Adding a second fan may not increase the cooling performance enough to warrant replacing the RAM.

What temps are you on now under load?

I had a Noctua NH-D14 with only the middle fan, think the temps where on a couple of degrees hotter.

If LPX RAM is still too tall, you can remove the heatspreaders on whatever RAM you have, they are mostly just for aesthetics. Obviously you'd lose warranty though.
my ram is used, so im not worried about warranty. they are silver and just say viper on them. 3600mhz thats all i know.

Im using a gigabyte a520m k v2, so i dont know about other a520 boards, but the ram slots are pretty close to the cooler. i havent had a chance to get and test other ram yet.

My temps have been fine and low, but ive only really used it to setup windows and test the motherboard and ram works etc as they are used items, so i havent got round to completing the system to use it for anything properly yet. the case is a small portable micro atx case which has front and rear fan support with the psu mounted at the front, so theres some decent/good airflow . case has a reasonable amount of mesh too.

cooler is ID COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB WHITE

as i say, i probably dont need the extra fan, just that i got a spare fan and the cooler came with secondary brackets, so i thought why not. This will be my first time properly using a 5900x, so i dont know what the cooling solutions etc are like.

Think you may have the cooler mounted wrong.

The fin stack is offset slightly to move it away from the RAM slots, so if you have it the wrong way round it will move it closer.
