Can you get oversized letterboxes?

Google isn't really helping me here

We have what appears to be a slimline letterbox / flap in our UPVC front door. We often have packets delivered that are slighty too big to go through it so I'm forced to go to the sorting office to collect them. Since we usually have to wait 72 hours before doing this it can be a bit of a pain.

I've thought about one of those parcel delivery boxes you can put outside, but that seems a bit excessive when it might only be a couple of CD's or something like that. I can get a slightly bigger "standard" sized letterbox easily enough, but wondered if there was something slightly bigger available. I've even considered fitting a cat flap! :D

The mid rail of the door where it'll be fitted is quite large and flat; 500mm x 105mm, although I don't need it quite that big!

Ta :)

Quit your job, go on the brew and never miss a parcel ever again. (I amaze myself sometimes!!)

Love it! Thinking outside the (post) box :D

Signed for items might indeed be a problem. Some of the external parcel boxes I've looked at do include some kind of code that can be used instead of a signature, but they are at the spendy end of the market.

To be fair most stuff can be delivered to my wife's workplace but on the odd occasion I've had sellers insist on delivering to my home address, and of course sometimes I just don't want her to know about it ;)

I've had parcels delivered in the past which required signing for, they where left by front door, so I presume driver signed for them.:(

Blue wheelie bin just before collection day was a classic for me. The courier hadn't even left a card! I only noticed the parcel was in there as I threw the last bit of recycling in before I took the bin to the curb for collection the next morning!!
