Can you get the Vista sidebar to autohide?

Any idea if there's a way to make the Vista sidebar appear e.g. when the mouse hovers over it, and then fade away? I enjoy its functionality, but I don't love it enough to have it up all the time...

You could auto-hide the sidebar in early betas of Vista, however when it was removed and then re-added to the beta product the option to auto-hide was removed.

Also M$ do not have any short term plans to make it auto-hide.

Too bad! Anyone know if there's a 3rd party app that can sort this? One of the better ones is Windows Sidebar Styler, but that doesn't support autohide unfortunately.

The only way I've found to hide it is by clicking on the Show desktop icon in the quick launch tray, admitedly it hides everything lol
