Something no more than £200 thats light and the screen isnt too small(not 10-11"ish) and from a good brand preferibly. Ideally suited for travelling long distances

thats a really tight budget, even for a netbook. but there is an ASUS Eee PC 1001HA around for £199.99 if you look carefully (maybe less if ur good at searching common places)

what netbooks do you have/or used personally, how do you feel about the different sizes?

i used my g/f's sisters netbook once and it was alittle tiny for me (think it was a 10") i think i will need to go take a look at them in the shops to compare sizes.

cheers

i have used a couple now, the first one i dont remember what company it was, i think hp and the 2nd was a samsung.

i just bought the samsung, first i went to a shop that i knew sold it and had a bit of a play with it. i was able to test it with everything i knew i would use it for. so i went on utube, bbc iplayer, facebook, quakelive, excel, ppt, word and i was comfortable with the screen size, 10". smaller is better for me because i will be able to carry it easily and the battery will last for longer.

One thing i found was that the shops have internet explorer with a lot of addons that fill the top of the screen, but google chrome is very small so thats what i use and i can see a lot of the screen. setting the task bar to hide when not using it helps too, but i find that quite annoying so i dont use that.

when i get a chance i will try and upload a screenshot, so u know what can be seen.

I've got an Acer Aspire One and EEE 1008ha. The EEE is an amazing little machine and can be had for under £200 from an auction site.

A popular high street electronic component store have the MSI Wind U100 with 6cell batt for £200. I've never used one but they are highly regarded and perfect for OSX ;)

That same place also has/had refurbed U100s for £150! I know couple of people who bought them and I have the same model branded differently. Solid little netbook and easy to access for upgrades too.
