hello,
i was just wondering if its possible to have 3 ATI 4670's for example as i have 2 already and im going to be starting a new build soon and i may be buying a mobo with 3 pci slots and ive seen that nvidia do it- just wondering really,

thanks, James

Nope. Two of the X2 cards run what they call Quadfire, but 3 won't do anything over 2.

Do you mean can you run three cards in a single config i.e TriFire?

I'd be wary of Marketing names as they have a tendency to make people spend more money . . . "I want Crossfire" . . . "I want TriFire" etc . . . . when actually what most people want is enough power to enjoy HD Gaming . . . Never seen the need for more than a good single GPU myself, gets the job done but doesn't make very interesting talk on the forums! . . . unless its in the first week or two of release! :p

i do agree with the name thing, people end up buying the name to put in there signature more than actually using the power.
on ati catalyst your graphics cards come down in a drop down so you dont need extra software or anything as it controls each card individually

Btw James I used a Radeon HD4670 for 4-5 months and found it to be a great card, mainly bought it for the power savings as it was the best of the bunch for a casual gamer but my PC's are normally running 24/7 so it made sense!

Now you are saying you have two of these cards and are thinking of adding a third?

What kinda FPS are you getting with two? . . . . I found gaming @ 1280x720 pretty good with a single HD 4670 . . . . what res are you running at? . . . . here is a 3DMark03 screenie I dug up, can you compare please!
