Can you have a sandwich without bread?

2 slices of sponge cake with butter cream and jam....

I've had a butty with no bread before, I used bacon instead, and had sausage, cheese and mustard in the middle...
 
I just managed to get flames inside my microwave trying to make a sandwich. I guess I should have went with one without any bread. :(

If you are quantifying it as a wheat-based concoction, then yes, you can use wheat and gluten-free "bread". I refuse to call it bread though, as it's an utter abomination.

It tastes like crap, but seeing as the GF is coeliac I end up eating it more often than I'd like :(
