Can you have multiple fingerprint readers on the same PC for Windows Hello?

I have a fingerprint reader on the left of my desk. Can I have a second, on the right? Are there any restrictions? Must it be the same? Or must it be different?

Why not?

Not my use case but consider a laptop with a fingerprint reader in a docking station. You'd want a reader accessible when the laptop is closed.
