I love a fast computer and Do O/C
This is my setup i will order from overclockers just would like you thoughts

BFG GeForce GTX 295
MSI Eclipse SLI Intel X58
Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz O/C to 4Ghz+
Corsair 6GB DDR3 XMS3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel DDR3
Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
Noctua NH-U12P SE1366
6*Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB RAID 5

I have lots of dvd drives and other items that i don't need to get.

Now what psu will i need?
"Thermaltake ToughPower 850W Modular Power Supply"
or more?

I will be over clocking to 4Ghz or more, will the ram be ok?
Will i need more than 6GB will games use it?

What i am looking at is fast gaming
fast loads and windows start up times
fast video rendering as a side line hence lots of fast HDs.
one Hd will do 100mb Sustained
Sustained speed of 500 mbs i hope or is that dreeming?

I was hopeing for it to be about £1500 but its about 1800ish

can you tell my what you think is this good?
 
From what i've read on here, you'll want to stay well clear of those drives, go for something like the Samsung F1's if you can.
 
For the PSU i would personally go for the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W or 750W depending how much you want to spend:). If there a bit to pricey which shouldnt be looking at your spec very very nice go for Zalman ones :)
 
I would consider a high end Corsair PSU, you don't want to risk your whole rig on a be quiet PSU...

Go for a few of the 320/640gb WD drives, they're the best 7200rpm drive around atm.

6gb ram sounds good, and that ram is good too.

If you're wanting good and proper raid you'll need to sped a pretty penny on a dedicated raid card, as onboard (software) raid will cry with more than two of those drives on it.

For the MB i have found the MSI in reviews to be better at Over clocking?
but still you say it better what do others think?

The hard drives are the 2nd fastest at 100+ MBs and have the best warranty i have herd and when looking around 70-80 say Seagate are the best?

For the raid i was worndering about a card, whats a good raid card for the price?

And as for the PSU I think i was needing over 800watts?
The cpu can have up to 350watts when over clocked
GPU 300 at the time of looking for 6 hard drives 70-80 watts
and fans ect.....thats about 750 watts with no head room. for other cards ect....

I am just doing lots of diging to get the best for the price i need this to last 4+ years

I've had fantastic performance from my two Seagate 500GB drives in RAID0 and RAID1 drives in HDTach; but for the best RAID5 performance you might want to consider a dedicated RAID controller card. I've RMA'd Seagate drives before and the service is excellent to mainland UK.

They are an extra expenditure over the motherboard RAID but can offer extra features like hot-swap, useful if you are mounting the drives in a hot-swappable drive bay.

I have Samsung F1's in my 23K server - they are quieter but not as fast as my Seagates in RAID1.
 
I think i will still go with the seagate 500GB.
going for raid 5 was for the speed and redundancy and do not like useing raid 0 over more than 2 disks

why i was looking at Thermaltake ToughPower is lot of reviews of "over clocking" have been useing them
 
all Thermaltake ToughPower have 5 stars in there reviews too
but what do you think 850 watts or 1000 watts the jump is just under £70 will i need it?

i am thinking that if i get a 2nd 295 in years to come i will need to have the power. is that just it?
