Yeah, that should be running at a 133MHz FSB, not 100MHz.

You need to go into the BIOS and look for any settings allowing you to change the FSB.

Thanks dude. I've changed the FSB to 133MHz and CPU-Z now displays:

I think you're spot on there dude. I've changed the multiplier BIOS settings to 133MHz and the machine now displays the following on POST: "AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1800+".

So the machine has gone from 1.1GHz to 1.5GHz - is it too simplistic to consider this a 25% (roughly) performance improvement?

ps. I can't get over the number of dodgy PC builders out there - something like setting up your FSB correctly isn't that difficult surely?
